Many common treatment issues benefit from a combination of “talk therapy” and Medication Evaluation & Management. Depression and anxiety, for example, are sometimes best treated through coordinated efforts of a qualified therapist and a psychiatric specialist. Texas Whole Life Counseling works closely with a number of experienced medication providers.
Your therapist will carefully shape your treatment plan to best make use of your customized medication regimen, and will maintain an ongoing dialogue with your medication provider to maximize your treatment progress on all fronts.

Should I meet first with a psychiatrist or a therapist?
If you are potentially interested in pursuing both therapy and medication treatment, you can initially meet with either a medication provider or one of our counseling experts. (If you would like to first meet with a psychiatrist, call (972) 755-0996 and we will provide a referral based upon your circumstances.) During your initial one hour meeting with a psychiatrist or therapist, you can discuss your intention to integrate medication with psychotherapy, and your care provider can help you form the best treatment plan for your financial resources, meeting availability and specific treatment issues. If you are uncertain about where to start, we suggest you first meet with one of our therapy specialists for an initial consultation.
